Austria Hockey Will Try For Gold at Sochi in Group B

Austria is not exactly known as a powerhouse in the world of hockey, so it was an uphill battle for them to even qualify for the Olympics in Sochi. But, qualify they did by forcing Germany into overtime in the qualification rounds, making it into the games for the first time since 2002. Austria boasts three NHL players, Thomas Vanek and Michael Grabner, who will be counted on to score goals, and Michael Raffl of the Philadelphia Flyers. They have been placed in Group B as the fourth seed with Canada, Finland and Norway.
